Sarah Holod-Andrews (ASL Instructor)
Sarah’s Personal Biography
My name is Sarah Holod-Andrew and I have been working with the Deaf community for nearly fifteen years. I had a Deaf grandfather who inspired me to learn American Sign Language, and I have been working as a Certified American Sign Language Interpreter for over ten years.
I have also been teaching ASL for six years and I absolutely love my work. I am a big believer in giving back to the community that has been so pivotal in helping me become the interpreter and teacher I have become, and I highly recommend attending local Deaf events and ASL socials as you practice your American Sign Language skills. However, sign language is not a stand alone language. Like many languages, sign language is attached to the rich and beautiful Deaf culture. The more you socialize and learn from Deaf people, the more you will learn about this beautiful community.
In my personal life, I love to be outdoors, especially at the beach. I also love reading, cooking, and trying new activities. I look forward to working with all of the new people I encounter and wish you luck on your journey to learning the beautiful language of American Sign Language!
