Growing up in New Brunswick, Canada, I learned French by attending a French Immersion program. Once graduated from high school, I studied in Montreal, Canada, where I was inspired to become a language teacher. It was there that I also embraced the Quebecois culture, and learned to appreciate my Acadian roots.

In 1993, I moved to Hokkaido, Japan, where I taught English & French to over 330 students. There I learned to speak Japanese. The excitement of being in a new culture made me want to share my knowledge and experiences to help other people learn new languages.

In 1996, I moved to Southern California. Since then, I have acquired a Masters in Education and have taught both English & French at private, public, and charter schools, as well as at university.

It is my sincerest hope that you give yourself the gift of language this year. Take the opportunity to embrace a new language and culture.
